LONDON, ENGLAND, March 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Take in an age-old London tradition by cheering on the competitors in the Head of the River Race (HORR) next month.
The challenge will take place on April 2nd this year and see about 400 crews from Britain and abroad rowing furiously to be crowned winners.
Crews of eight start off at Mortlake Stone and make their way along the Thames for 4.25 miles to Putney.
The race was first conceived in 1926 as a way for rowers to practise for summer regattas, but has since turned into a celebrated tradition attended by huge cheering crowds and entrants from all over the world.
Anyone keen to see the starting line-up can do so on the HORR website from Thursday March 10th.
It is free to watch, but people may want to reserve their spot early for a good view of the action.
The starting pistol will be fired at 16:00 BST.
