CORNWALL, ENGLAND, March 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Truro's third annual Art in the City festival is set to run from Monday April 18th to Monday May 2nd.
People visiting the Cornish city during this two-week period will find a special programme of cultural events and public art installations taking place on the streets.
The festival is organised by Totally Truro, a not-for-profit company responsible for delivering the first Business Improvement District in Cornwall.
As well as enjoying special activities at the various galleries and art retailers, visitors will be able to explore the city's creative side at the marquee on Lemon Quay.
Special events include BIG Art, in which a series of large canvases will be painted, exhibited and sold at auction in one day.
The festival is free to attend and could provide holidaymakers with a good excuse to spend some time in Truro, which is Cornwall's only city.
Local attractions include the Royal Cornwall Museum and the Hall for Cornwall theatre, as well as the famous cathedral.
Constructed at the end of the 19th century, the building dominates the skyline in Truro and is one of only three cathedrals in the UK with three spires.
People planning to visit the city can find a wide range of luxury hotels in Cornwall at LateRooms.com, which recommends the Jamaica Inn Cornwall.
