According to Dr. Fondacaro: "The National Society of Cosmetic Physicians is a unique organization. It accepts all licensed physicians, regardless of specialty. All types of doctors are increasing their interest in cosmetic procedures. The Society is ideal for them. They'll get a structured, 'hands-on' liposuction program, with didactic instruction." Dr. Fondacaro continued. "Physicians can now choose. They can participate in a 2-day CME accredited course; or an abbreviated, one-day course, without CME credits. Either course gives physicians a comprehensive understanding of liposuction procedures; as well as a good comfort level."
Teaching is nothing new to Dr. Fondacaro. The award-winning physician started his surgical career in July 1986. First, as Instructor in Surgery at SUNY Downstate; and Attending Surgeon at Long Island College Hospital. The following year, he moved to Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC, to accept his appointment as Assistant Director of Surgery. Dr. Fondacaro was later named Assistant Professor of Surgery at N.Y. Medical College. After a medical school affiliation change, he became Assistant Professor of Surgery at Cornell Medical College. Dr. Fondacaro entered private practice in 1992; and continued to practice, and teach, at Lenox Hill Hospital into 2007.
