BERLIN, GERMANY, March 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- New wave pioneers The Human League will perform at Huxleys Neue Welt in Berlin on Saturday April 23rd.
Following the release of their first studio album in ten years earlier this month, Philip Oakey's group are heading back out on to the road and have lined up several dates in Germany.
It is now 20 years since the band unveiled their landmark album Dare, which featured the singles Love Action (I Believe in Love) and Don't You Want Me, their biggest commercial hit.
However, they remain hugely popular with fans of the avant-garde synth-pop sound that emerged from Sheffield during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
The Human League has essentially been a trio since 1987, with Oakey joined by vocalists Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley.
New album Credo, which was produced by fellow Sheffield-based act I Monster and contains the single Night People, has already been well-received by critics.
Oakey recently discussed the meaning of the title in a statement on the band's official website.
"The word 'credo' is about believing - it says everything about the record, which is exactly the record we would want to have made for release in 2011," he explained.
Fans heading to the Berlin gig can expect to hear plenty of tracks from the group's latest LP, as well as older favourites like Open Your Heart, Mirror Man and Human.
Tickets for the show are now available online, priced at EUR35.75 (GBP31.40). Doors are due to open at 20:00 local time and the music will begin one hour later.
