PHUKET, THAILAND, April 17, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Over three days between 15th and 17th May 2011, Summer Festival welcomes in the beginning of the new season and people will be heading to Mount Abu to take in the vibrant festivities. The festival is set to feature many scenes of authentic Rajasthan folk dances including the forms called Daph, Gair and Ghoomar and this will be accompanied by plenty of live music played on traditional instruments.
Visitors can catch the opening ballad before the start of the dancing with dancers dressed in many of the bright colours that signify the summer. Throughout the day the Nakki Lake boat race draws hundreds of spectators and everyone can be heard loudly cheering on their favourite team.
Recitals of poetry then begin at night in what is termed Sham e Qawwali or the evening of poems which are eloquently read by the poets called 'qawwals'. The final night culminates with a huge firework display before people head back to their hotel in Udaipur.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "Udaipur airport is the nearest to the festival which connects to the main cities in India. People travel from across the country to attend and as such hotels in the area will be booking up fast so it's advisable to leave plenty of time to find accommodation."
