NAPLES, ITALY, April 23, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A fascinating exhibition held in Naples is devoted to the construction of a new cemetery in Italy.
Visitors will be able to see drawings, models and a site-specific art project relating to The Garden of Memory, which has been designed by the French couple Anne and Patrick Poirier.
It has been planned to cover a space the shape of an oak leaf and the avenues between different areas have been given the names of constellations.
The monument was designed by the Poiriers for the Gorgonzola district of Milan and features all sorts of intriguing, symbolic structures, such as a blue glass arc for the entrance.
In a statement, the organisers of the exhibition said: "The new cemetery at Gorgonzola will be a garden, a new Eden, a happy place of encounter between the living and their loved ones.
"It will cover an area of over 16,000 square metres located within an even more extensive green area."
The installation is hosted by the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Donna Regina Napoli (Madre) and will be on display until May 23rd 2011.
It is open from 10:30 to 14:30 local time every day except Tuesday, when it is closed.
