PHUKET, THAILAND, May 06, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jansen is internationally renowned for her performances on the violin and she'll be joining the orchestra to play pieces by Dmitri Shostakovich and Gustav Mahler on 6th June 2011. Audiences can look forward to a unique combination between the classical greats with Jansen playing the 1727 Stradivari violin being lent to her by Chicago's Stradivari Society.
Conducting the evening will be Grammy award winner Paavo Jarvi who has worked with Jansen before when she released a recording of the Britten and Beethoven Violin Concertos in 2009. Jarvi is sure to attract his own wide following for the event having conducted some of the world's most accomplished orchestras such as the London Philharmonic and Chicago Symphony during his career.
The concert is just one of the many that make up the Bologna Festival which started in March and features a programme that runs for seven months until 10th September 2011. Visitors looking to attend the concert in June can check into hotels in Bologna near the Teatro Manzoni and the performance will start from 20:30.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "It won't be easy for people to find hotels who haven't planned ahead as the concert will be almost completely sold out. Early reservations should be made online for rooms to avoid disappointment."
