Maria T. Leccese Exhibits Excellence in Education

    LYNDHURST, NJ, May 6, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Maria T. Leccese, Preschool Teacher at Sacred Heart School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in education.

As a preschool teacher at Sacred Heart School, Ms. Leccese employs a creative approach to teaching. She utilizes her background in dance, singing and theater to make her lessons both fun and educational. Ms. Leccese is responsible for teaching daily morning and afternoon classes in language arts and mathematics, as well as weekly classes in religion, gym, art and computers, to her 4-year-old students. She began her career three years ago with the East Hanover Township Public School District as a sixth-grade inclusion teacher. She went on to develop and teach a self-contained multi-disabled special education class for children in grades six through eighth. Working with her students is a passion for Ms. Leccese, and she attributes her success to her Catholic school education.

Ms. Leccese graduated with high honors from the College of Saint Elizabeth in 2008. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary/Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Special Education and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology. Throughout her education, she received numerous honors for her scholastic excellence. She currently holds three certifications including a Teacher of Preschool through Grade 3, Elementary School Teacher in Kindergarten through Grade 5 and Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Ms. Leccesse is a member of the ASCD and Kappa Delta Phi. Outside of work, she sings in her church choir and fundraises for Autism Speaks. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in education leadership with a supervision endorsement.
