The unique performances will take place at the Grove Library in the suburb of Peppermint Grove and are designed to bring the world of classical music to a broader audience.

Robert Schumann's Piano Quintet and Johannes Brahms's Clarinet Quintet, two of the most popular chamber music pieces of all time, feature in the opening GCCS show on June 5th 2011.

When she first heard Brahms's piece, Clara Schumann - the composer's closest female companion - said: "It is a really marvellous work, the wailing clarinet takes hold of one; it is most moving."

Concerts will also be held on June 12th, 19th and 26th. The final performance will feature Anna Slepsova, one of Western Australia's finest pianists, giving a recital of some of her favourite solo piano pieces by Frederic Chopin and Franz Liszt.

All shows are due to commence at 16:30 local time.

Tickets are priced at AU$25 for adults and AU$22 for concessions, while season passes - offering admission to all four concerts - cost AU$80.
