Children With Learning Problems Head to Brain Training Institute for Summer

As summer plans get under way, Brain Potential Institute is experiencing a huge increase in children with learning problems enrolling for its brain training programs.

MAGNOLIA, TX, May 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- This year's summer enrollment has far surpassed the number of students from its 2010 record high. Parents are enrolling children who have learning problems and are hindered by ADD, ADHD, dyslexia and autism spectrum disorders in hopes of making the upcoming grade level easier. Children with these brain related disorders are headed to Brain Potential Institute in mass hoping to avoid having to retake a grade. Others are trying to avoid going through another semester of tutoring that hasn't helped.

On another note, enrollment in Brain Potential Institute's brain training program is on the rise because high-achieving students seeking to improve memory and brain speed to do well on SAT scores are discovering the brain exercises may give them a competitive advantage. Even Mensas known for their high IQs, who want to sharpen their brain processes, are finding that cognitive training offered at Brain Potential Institute is a powerful way to improve processing skills and brain efficiency.

Brain Potential Institute, known for its cutting edge Genius in Training program, is gearing up to implement this brain exercise protocol program, which takes full advantage of neurogenesis--the process of creating new brain pathways. The program's exercise modules work various sections of the brain that control attention, concentration, memory, auditory processing, brain speed, planning, visual processing, organizing and impulse control.

While the Brain Potential Institute program may take up to 72 hours of intense brain training, the rewards are significant. For the first time, nearly all of its students leave with a well-functioning brain that has been rewired making it highly receptive to learning. Additionally, the IQ of these students, on average, increases by 10 to 30 points. Students with reading problems often experience a three-grade level improvement. They find that standardized IQ and achievement testing verifies and validates this tremendous success students have experienced after participating in the institute's brain training program.

"Incidents of many neurological learning problems such as ADD, ADHD and autism spectrum disorders may be on the rise," said Jane Davis, P.T., MSHP and CEO, Brain Potential Institute. "It's encouraging to find that people are becoming more aware of these disorders and finding there are excellent treatments that can make academic success easily obtainable."

After thirty years experience in helping people overcome learning problems by improving central auditory processing, focus, memory, concentration, visual perception, logic, and motor movement, Davis understands the necessity for this brain training program globally. This is why Brain Potential Institute recently launched a one-on-one virtual online training program called VOLT. The program is a mirror of the on site exercises employed at Brain Potential Institute's corporate office in Magnolia, Texas. The program is implemented using the Internet and a one-on-one cognitive trainer. The program's flexibility allows people to participate with a trainer in their own home, office, day care center, school or hospital. Because of the program's high success rate, it is on an upward swing.

Whether children and teens with learning problems expect to work on site at the Brain Potential Institute's headquarters or brain train from their living rooms, the program always begins with a free screening evaluation.

"Often our students have been diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, sensory integrative disorders (SI) or autism spectrum disorders, however, we also often discover the child has a central auditory processing disorder that has been overlooked," said Davis. "These children struggle with school, which can be draining on them as well as the parent. Brain training makes a significant difference in their learning abilities, listening skills and multitasking capabilities. We expect to help many of these children and teens this summer so school isn't such a huge challenge."

Brain Potential Institute is based in Montgomery County, Texas. Most of its students who receive on site services live within the communities of Conroe, Woodlands, Montgomery, Magnolia, North Houston, Spring and Tomball.

Brain Potential Institute was founded by Jane Davis, P.T., M.S.H.P in 2002 as Kid Potential Inc., which expanded its services to include teens, adults and seniors and rebranded itself as Brain Potential Institute in 2010. Brain Potential Institute's mission is to optimize through cognitive training, the human brain to reach its highest intellectual potential for best performance at school and work, and to preserve function at every age. The program accepts students ages 3 through 90. Screening evaluations are free. For more information, please visit www.brainpotentialinstitute.com or call 936.271.2241 or 877.600.6565.
