SEATTLE, WA, May 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On 7th May 2011, StarlightRegistry.com, an online wedding registry company founded by Sarah Rigos, released a blog post announcing the results of an investigation into which department store wedding registry was the best. The winner was Bloomingdales.
Starlight Registry graded five of the most popular traditional department store registries to identify which are the best and worst based around a wide range of criteria including the quality of gift selection, returns policies, discounts offered, online and offline accessibility, and overall customer satisfaction.
The five department store registries compared, in order of highest to lowest final ratings, were Bloomingdales, Pottery Barn, Williams-Sonoma, Macys and Target.
The analysis also compared the popularity of these registries online using tools provided by Google to see whether there was any correlation between the quality and popularity of each of the registries. Unfortunately, there was a negative correlation whereby the registry graded as the worst (Target) was in fact the most popular online.
Sarah Rigos, founder of Starlight Registry said: "It is my personal goal to provide couples with the best solution when choosing their wedding gifts. I am aware that not all couples want to use an online service for their wedding registry, which is why I commissioned this study to provide honest and transparent information about the offline alternatives in my industry, so that couples wanting brick and mortar department store registries can make more informed decisions."
