MAYNARD, MA, May 17, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Learning Disabilities Worldwide has indisputably become the global leader in changing the lives of children and families affected with learning disabilities all across the world. As a result of the latest innovation and transitions, Learning Disabilities Worldwide has positioned itself to ensure that the promise of "No Child Left Behind" becomes a reality not only in the United States but across the globe. Learning Disabilities Worldwide is becoming this catalyst by "speaking their language."
With the launch of the renovated website, Learning Disabilities Worldwide will be providing information on learning disabilities in 17 different languages resulting in over 168 countries worldwide having access to education and resources. This dramatic shift in deliverance of information will cause individuals in these countries to have the ability to understand, address, and overcome learning disabilities who once were deprived the ability to succeed due to this lack of knowledge. The eight-month project will shake the foundation of education globally when it makes its debut on the Information Superhighway April 28, 2011. Truly a landmark date in the history of overcoming learning disabilities.
"The greatest asset about the site is not just one thing. It's about the fact that parents can come to the site for information, teachers will be provided quality and top of the line peer-reviewed journals in various languages. It is also about the fact that we are bringing information and knowledge into countries that have not had access to resources on learning disabilities before now. We are leading the way in reaching those with learning disabilities all across the world because each one is just as special as the next and deserves the opportunity to succeed. The education in countries outside the United States is hindered by the barriers and walls of lack of resources and knowledge. Now we have the capability to tear those walls down," states Teresa Allissa Citro, CEO of Learning Disabilities Worldwide.
Additionally, Learning Disabilities Worldwide will incorporate ReadSpeaker technology into the site. This program will provide text to speech capability in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Arabic. "Since 1965 Learning Disabilities Worldwide has worked tirelessly to enhance the lives of individuals with learning disabilities, with a special emphasis on the underserved. We strive to increase awareness and understanding of learning disabilities through multilingual resources that serve populations across cultures and nations," states Kevin Mayne, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Learning Disabilities Worldwide.
