MUNICH, GERMANY, May 21, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pentecost Festival will take place next month in Munich, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy some of Germany's up and coming rock and pop bands.
But this free event does not only showcase home-grown groups, there will also be appearances from international acts, including a few established names from the UK.
The festival, now in its 11th year, runs from June 11th to 13th 2011.
My Vitriol, Electrelane and Vega 4 are among the bands making the trip from England, while Gemma Hayes represents the Irish at the occasion.
With a considerably larger journey ahead of them are the US groups, which include Mother Tongue, We are the World, Scott Matthew and Abe Vigoda.
There will be bands from plenty of other countries, but if attendees want to get a taste for proper German fare, they should aim to catch shows by Klee, Timid Tiger, Rainer Von Vielen and Nova International among others.
In total, there will be 18 concerts taking place over the course of the three days, with up to 10,000 revellers expected to attend.
On top of it all, the performers will take the stage in an auditorium that boasts beautiful views of a nearby lake, making it an idyllic summer setting.
The festival runs from 16:00 to 22:00 local time each day at the Theatron in Olympia Park, which has a rich history stretching back to when the city hosted the Olympic Games in 1972.
It began hosting concerts two years after the sporting spectacle.
To reach the venue, take the underground line U3 to Olympia Park, from which it is a short walk.
