    LAKE DISTRICT, ENGLAND, June 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Keep Smiling Through, a new play by Lisa Evans, is set to open at the Theatre by the Lake on Saturday July 30th.

The Keswick venue commissioned the wartime drama as part of the line-up for its summer season and performances are due to run on selected dates until November.

Set in the Lake District in 1940, the play tells the story of central character Maggie as she attempts to juggle various responsibilities such as evacuee lodgers, helping with the war effort and issues in her personal life.

Evans, who is currently associate playwright at the Theatre by the Lake, has a number of screen and stage credits to her name.

Her other theatrical works include The Day the Waters Came, Glory Glory and The Maid of Buttermere, an adaptation of the epic novel by Melvyn Bragg.

Tickets to see Keep Smiling Through can be purchased online, priced between GBP10 and GBP26.

All evening performances are due to begin at 20:00 BST, with matinee shows on selected dates taking place at 14:00.
