PHUKET, THAILAND, June 03, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The sport of motorcycle trials involves riders having to negotiate man made and natural obstacles, over timed sections, without letting their feet touch the ground. The challenge involves combining balance with the right speed as the riders drive the motorcycles through streams, steep gullies and over huge boulders to try to complete the course in the shortest possible time without any penalties.
The event in Fort William is part of the World Series and is the only UK stage with seven other stages being held in locations such as Japan, Italy, Spain and Andorra. Sixty riders from 15 countries will be competing and this includes the best of the best in the World Pro category along with the World Junior and World Youth titles.
Spectators can catch the riders at the Nevis Range in Fort William from 30th to 31st July 2011 and eyes are sure to be on UK talent Dougie Lampkin who has won the championships 12 times and current title holder Toni Bou who'll be looking to compliment his four world titles by clocking up a win at this stage.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com, commented: "Around 8,000 people are due to come to watch the trials and competition for Fort William hotels locally will be strong so attendees should be sure to book early online."
