PHUKET, THAILAND, June 04, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Between 7th and 16th July 2011, the Jerusalem International Film Festival will be highlighting films by new and established directors from home and abroad to undercover the best new releases. Approximately 200 different films will get to appear at the festival comprising work from a variety of genres and delving into the world of documentaries and short productions.
Each film will be split into a specific category such as Panorama which is based solely on international entries while another will be dedicated to Israeli features. Film buffs can check out the efforts of aspiring directors in the New Directors category, or alternatively what's happening in television dramas. The In the Spirit of Freedom section explores more hard-hitting issues by concerning itself with a person's right to freedom and opinions on human rights.
During the festival judges will be awarding the best features and a special prize is given for the Wolgin Competition which recognises the best Israeli full length film, documentary and short.
Anyone staying at a Jerusalem hotel over the event can also look out for the odd celebrity as the screenings are always well attended by famous film stars. Previous editions have seen names such Jeanne Moreau, Warren Beaty and Chantal Ackerman in attendance.
