The chart-topping indie band's show on Saturday July 16th will provide fans with a chance to hear special unplugged versions of songs like Wires, You Got the Style and El Salvador.

According to a statement from the group, they decided to give their back catalogue a mellow, acoustic reinvention following the success of a one-off show in London earlier this year.

With four studio albums to their name, the south London outfit have plenty of songs to choose from and are likely to incorporate tracks from each record into the set.

Wires, their biggest hit to date, peaked at number four in the UK singles chart in 2004.

Support for Athlete's show in Gloucester will be provided by Brighton-based folk-pop act The Robot Heart.

Tickets are available to buy online, priced at GBP18 plus booking fee. Doors will open at 19:30 BST.
