LateRooms.com - Cittadellarte Exhibition in Rome Extended

    ROME, ITALY, June 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Cittadellarte installation at Rome's MAXXI gallery will be on show until September 4th 2011 after its run was extended by the organisers.
 
It presents examples of the work carried out at an interdisciplinary laboratory of culture put together by Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto in 1998.
 
Cittadellarte, also the name of the institute, will explore how Pistoletto wanted to use his creative output to help transform society.
 
"Here the artist has developed an organic institution composed of a number of independent and self-organised departments or 'uffizi' addressing sectors such as art, economics, education, politics, ecology and communication," explained the organisers in a statement.
 
If visitors are travelling to the arts space by Metro, they should alight at Flaminio and take a tram to the venue.
 
The MAXXI is closed on Monday and opens at 11:00 local time every other day. It shuts at 19:00 daily, except for Thursday and Saturday, when it stays open until 22:00.
