SINGAPORE, June 11, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Lion King can be seen on a stage in Singapore this summer, telling the dramatic story of a young cub's rise to the head of his pride.
Adapted from the original Disney movie, the musical version of the tale has been seen by more than 51 million people and is being performed at the Marina Bay Sands.
The production features a host of hugely popular songs, such as Can You Feel The Love Tonight, written by Elton John and Tim Rice.
In a statement, the organisers said: "At its heart is the powerful and moving story of Simba - the epic adventure of his journey from wide-eyed cub to his destined role as King of the Pridelands."
It lasts about 150 minutes and boasts colourful sets and costumes that are brought to life with the sensational special effects.
First staged in 1997 in the US, the show has been so successful in the West End that it is still being performed there 11 years after receiving its UK debut.
The current run in Singapore lasts until July 31st, with shows beginning at 20:00 local time from Tuesday to Sunday and matinees taking place from 14:00 at the weekend.
Tickets start from S$65 (GBP32.20).
