SOUTHBURY, CT, June 14, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Viruses sucking the life out of your computer? Instead of forking over hundreds of dollars to your local computer geek or PC clinic, you may want to give a 100% free repair service a try first. It's a Web site called www.GregWantsToHelp.com, and it teaches ordinary people how to fix their virus-infected computers using a suite of free software found online.
The site contains refreshingly easy instructional videos that guide users through computer repair using a simple 1-2-3-step process. No geeky terminology. As the site remarks, "You don't need a PhD to fix your PC."
Long-time computer guru, Greg Weed, developed the site to help end the frustration he sees in the marketplace. "I get calls all the time from people who took their computers to big-name computer-repair services and are not happy with the outcome -- or the cost," commented Weed. "I let people know that they can fix their own computers in a few minutes with free software found on the Internet. I decided to create a Web site to show them how."
Weed continued, "Computer viruses, malware, and spyware have become the number one threat to computers today. If you don't have quality antivirus software, your computer will become infected in a matter of hours. Instead of trying to profit from peoples' misery, I've decided to try and help them fix their infected computers at no charge."
The video section at www.GregWantsToHelp.com gives visitors no-cost instruction on how to back up a computer, download and install antivirus software, and how to download and install anti-malware software.
Greg says that he plans to add additional topics such as "Router Installation" and "Child Safety Monitoring Software." He added, "I will continue to add topics that people want."
