BANGKOK, THAILAND, June 29, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- CollegeSwap, the online marketplace for university students, has announced a new effort to help Student Government Associations (SGAs) raise funds. CollegeSwap is currently recruiting SGAs to become their school's free official sponsor of CollegeSwap. As CollegeSwap's official sponsor, SGAs will help promote CollegeSwap on campus and in return receive 30% of all future CollegeSwap advertising revenue for life.
CollegeSwap is a unique e-commerce website that allows students to buy, sell, and swap for the goods and services that they need. At the CollegeSwap.net website, each university and college has its own area where students can post what they need and what they have to swap or sell. This could range from textbooks, refrigerators, laptops, and furniture to tutoring, cleaning, and ride share services.
CollegeSwap has been beta tested since February and now is gearing up for nationwide use during the 2011/2012 academic year. "We believe that SGAs are the perfect on-campus organization to help us get the word out about CollegeSwap," says Sam Kittayapong, CEO of Whowish, the developer of CollegeSwap. "We will be providing SGAs with customized PDF files from which they can print up posters and flyers to be distributed at their schools. Then as more students begin using CollegeSwap we will monetize the site with targeted products ads and local community ads. Each SGA will earn 30% of the ad revenue for their school's CollegeSwap area for life."
Students can use CollegeSwap at no cost. To log on to the e-commerce site, all that is required is a Facebook account. According to Kittayapong, the Facebook requirement helps students better protect their privacy, while giving them greater control of who they want to buy, sell, and swap with. Students can choose to deal only with their Facebook friends, their friends and friends of friends, or their entire school. All transactions are easily kept track of the in the student's private mail box on CollegeSwap.
