BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, July 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fashion, food and entertainment are on the bill at the Brisbane French Festival, which takes place next month to celebrate Bastille Day.
The event is set to run from 09:00 to 22:00 local time on Saturday July 16th at the South Bank cultural precinct, meaning visitors will be able to enjoy 11 hours of non-stop activities.
Bastille Day comes every July 14th and is celebrated worldwide as the start of the European nation's revolution against the aristocracy.
It marks the date that the Bastille jail in Paris was taken by the people and although it was seen as a minor event at the time, it has since become adopted as the French national day.
As part of Brisbane's festivities, more than 50 stalls packed with French products will be set up at the site, with exhibitors set to include Peugeot, Rouge Coffee and the Academie Culinaire de France.
According to the organisers, stallholders will have the chance to connect with around 50,000 people at the event.
Other highlights that have already been confirmed include a fashion show, with further details due to be announced closer to the time.
Francophiles thinking of soaking up some Gallic culture at the festival can use LateRooms.com.au to browse a huge choice of last minute hotels in Brisbane.
