LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND, July 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Liverpool Echo Arena will host a performance by legendary Scottish band Deacon Blue later this month.
The quartet are set to play together on July 29th, having taken a break while Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh focused on their McIntosh Ross side project.
Deacon Blue first found fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s before reforming in 1999, but they have not recorded a new studio album since 2001's Homesick.
Ross, who is married to fellow singer McIntosh, revealed how eager the band are to perform together.
In a statement, he said: "Liverpool audiences are always full of energy and spirit so it will be great to be back for the Summer Pops. We haven't played as a full band for a while so we're all looking forward to getting back out there."
Fans will no doubt want to hear classic hits such as Real Gone Kid, When Will You (Make My Telephone Ring) and Dignity, but there are rumours that Ross has been working on new material for the group.
Tickets cost between GBP18.50 and GBP36.50.
