EDMONDS, WA, July 08, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Edmonds Woodway Dental Care will open the practice to those who cannot afford regular dental care during their Third Annual Day of Caring on Saturday, July 30. Free dental service will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Edmonds Woodway Dental Care, 21810 76th Avenue West, Suite 102, in Edmonds, Washington.
"The Day of Caring has proven to be a great way to help take care of our neighbors," said Dr. Michael Hrankowski. Last year, doctors provided treatment to 37 people on the Day of Caring.
Dr. Hrankowski said treatment would be offered on a first come, first served basis, with priority given to people in pain or with infections.
"To accommodate as many people as possible, we will provide only procedures that can be accomplished in one appointment and there is a limit of one procedure per person," Dr. Hrankowski said. He noted the types of procedures that can be done in one appointment include extractions, fillings and other symptomatic treatment. No root canal treatments or cleanings will be performed.
Dr. Hrankowski has recruited three other dentists for the Day of Caring to serve more people. The dentists are Dr. Roy Carlson, Edmonds, Dr. Brian Dillon, Redmond, and Dr. Ken Huff, Portland, Oregon. Colgate and Patterson Dental Supply Company are providing supplies and additional equipment for the Day of Caring.
Dr. Hrankowski also thanked Pacific Northwest Catering for providing volunteer meals and the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce for their support of the Day of Caring.
Due to the expected demand, the doctors cannot guarantee everyone who shows up will be seen. "Come early for best chance at being seen, but please, not before 6 a.m.," Dr. Hrankowski said.
