MIAMI, FL, July 18, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bamboobarry (www.bamboobarry.com), inventor of the patented, parabolic Solaris bamboo shade structure, has taken center stage in television's home improvement arena this summer. The company and its sustainable bamboo products are being featured all summer long on the DIY Network's "Desperate Landscapes" program, where Bamboobarry - the company and its namesake, Founder/Managing Director Barry McCarthy - is helping transform the yards of three South Florida homes.

**Next Show**July 20th - 10pm EST - Installation of a custom-designed one-of-a-kind curved and undulating bamboo privacy screen, at the Miami Springs residence of the Collucci family. The 35-foot long screen is the focal point of the landscape design, acting as a backdrop to lush plantings, as well as providing semi-privacy for a seating area between the screen and the house. Bamboobarry also designed and installed a one-of-a-kind bamboo hand-rail on the front porch of the house to reinforce the tropical theme.

On an episode that aired June 29, Bamboobarry installed a Solaris at the Miami Beach residence of Tim Feldmann and Kino MacGregor, founders of The Miami Life Center on Miami Beach. The Solaris is featured as the crowning touch to the homeowners' complete landscape transformation and functions as an artistic focal point, as well as provide essential shade for outdoor living.

The Solaris is a modular, prefabricated system that is easy to kit, ship and assemble. It performs extremely well in tropical weather conditions, and provides 100% UV and rain protection. This patented shade structure has a high design aesthetic and is frequently selected by designers and architects to define outside areas for rest, relaxation, contemplation, and dining. The market for the Solaris and high-quality bamboo building materials and services is high-end, design driven.

Third Episode - Airing August 3rd - 10pm EST - Installation at the Vaclavik family residence in El Portal of a four-tile wall mural purchased from Bamboobarry. The mural was created by sculptor Gail McCarthy, Barry McCarthy's mother, and was originally intended as interior decor. The producers fell in love with the piece and purchased it for the outdoor environment surrounding the new seating area of the landscape design, which was coordinated around the colors of the tiles. Gail McCarthy's ceramic work uses 13th-Century luster techniques in high-tech kilns.

Bamboobarry has established dealers in St. Barts, St. Maartin, The Bahamas, Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The company is currently targeting high-end outdoor design showrooms to establish dealer relationships throughout the United States.
