TUCSON, AZ, July 20, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sonny Newman, President of Reno, Nevada-based EE Technologies, Inc. recently sat down with The Offshore Group to discuss electronics manufacturing services (EMS) in Mexico.
During the session, Newman discusses market trends in the industry. He places significant emphasis on how the attractiveness of the "China price" has lost some of its luster over the last several years in the realm of EMS and other industries due to an increase in Chinese wages, the diminution of export tax credits granted by the Chinese government to manufacturers, the appreciation of the Yuan against the dollar, as well as several other significant factors.
In the EMS manufacturing in Mexico podcast Newman also explains how, by combining capabilities at EE Technologies' Reno headquarters with those installed at its Guaymas, Mexico manufacturing facility, the company is able to compete globally.
According to Newman, "In our Reno facility, we do the prototypes, and we do the pre-production runs. Then as we get into some volume, it's transferred to the electronics manufacturing services in Mexico location, where we get the economies of the lower labor rates and lower overhead that enable us to manufacture products that can stand up to stiff global competition."
