Clothing Retailer Boden Doubles Social Media Following

    LONDON, ENGLAND, July 21, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Boden, the multichannel retailer of clothing and accessories, has reported a doubling of its social media following over the first half of 2011. Social presence for the brand is said to have increased sharply with key engagement metrics rising over the period.

Boden is reporting Facebook Likes growing from 18,000 to 44,000 and Twitter accounts reaching over 5,600 followers. Adding to these numbers is Boden's own Community platform with 8,000 sign ups since launching in Autumn 2010.

The numbers are impressive, but Boden insists the focus is on quality as well as quantity. "We are looking to create customer evangelists," says Chloe Williams, Online & Social Media Editor at Boden. She adds, "An example of our success in creating this is the Boden community tea party."

The tea party Ms Williams is referring to took place at Boden's London head office in June 2011. The event was an opportunity for thirty fans (most of whom had never met in the flesh) to preview the upcoming Autumn/Winter range, meet Johnnie and the team and take a tour of the Boden building.

Developing its online community and bridging digital with offline activity is key for Boden's brand development. "We want to use our social avenues to strengthen our brand," says Ms Williams. "Tone of voice and customer service is integral to this goal, as is ensuring the destination - be it Facebook, our community or Twitter, is a source of interesting and engaging content."
