MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, July 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lloyds TSB launches its 2011 Student Current Account; this is available to new and existing customers effective from 18th August 2011 . The Student Account includes a number of benefits, including the ability to help student track their spending and take more control of their money.
The account includes:
- A tiered interest and fee-free Planned Overdraft of up to GBP1,500 in the first three years and up to GBP2,000 in years four to six.
- An NUS Extra card for three years, giving students access to exclusive discounts on over 80 of their favourite brands including Amazon, Cross Country trains, Odeon, JJB Sports, ASOS, McDonalds, Zizzi and Pizza Express and many more.
- YHA membership for three years, giving discounts at around 4,000 Hostels around the world.
- 40 free music downloads from eMusic plus a free Mini Speaker.
- Mobile Banking and free text alerts, including limit alerts, high/low balance alerts and weekly balance alerts.
- Money Manager - access to the online service which provides students with the ability to view spending patterns and track financial activity.
- Internet and telephone banking to help students manage their money 24 hours a day.

Lloyds TSB student customers now have access to Money Manager, a pioneering online service that allows users to view their spending habits and keep track of their money whilst maintaining a budget at university. Money Manager is a free online service for Internet banking customers that can help support students by categorising spend into groups, such as eating out, clothes and entertainment.
Students with a Lloyds TSB Account will also have access to the new Lloyds TSB Mobile Browser , due to launch in the near future. The Mobile Browser will give students the ability to use their smart phones to access a specifically designed version of online banking, enabling them to manage their money on the move. The Mobile Browser will provide students with a variety of features, including the ability to view account balance and account details pay bills and transfer money between accounts within minutes and set up new recipients for payments.
