MILAN, ITALY, August 03, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Iconic ska band The Specials are set to perform in Milan later this year, having reformed for a second time in 2008.
The Coventry group, established in 1977, are world famous for hits like Ghost Town, Too Much Too Young and A Message to You Rudy.
Originally reforming in 1996 after a 12-year hiatus, they took another break in 2001 before returning to their touring schedule.
Back in the 1970s and 1980s, the band's mod outfits were as instantly recognisable as their musical style and they have continued in the same spirit ever since.
The latest incarnation of The Specials features original members Terry Hall, Lynval Golding, Neville Staple, Roddy 'Radiation' Byers, 'Sir' Horace 'Gentleman' Panter and John Bradbury. Only Jerry Dammers is missing from the line-up.
As well as writing catchy songs, the group are respected for tackling social issues in their songs.
The Specials will take the stage at the Discoteca Alcatraz on September 22nd 2011, with tickets costing EUR25 (GBP21.85). The music will begin at 21:00 local time.
