SINGAPORE, August 04, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The second solo exhibition by controversial artist Jahan Loh is entitled Cherry Poke and will be showcased at the Singapore Esplanade this summer.
Running from August 12th to September 11th 2011, the display explores several philosophies relating to mass culture and the experience of being a consumer.
Jahan's last exhibition was called Cherry Pop and cawwused a sensation on its release in 2008 with its provocative yet fascinating images of women.
In a statement, the organisers noted that the Singaporean has created his second major collection through constant experimentation with an "explosive palette of kitsch colours".
They remarked: "He shares new modes of looking at the human condition and its innate ability to extract and express memories and emotions made unique via our secular interactions with the world through mass objects of consumerist culture."
It is free to enter the exhibition, which is being held in the Jendela room of the Singapore Esplanade facility.
The show has been organised in conjunction with Yfest and Baybeats, which are both arts projects running in August.
