LONDON, ENGLAND, August 04, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Floating Cinema will give people a new way of enjoying films and movie-related fun in London over the summer.
In operation until September 17th 2011, the vessel is a converted canal boat that has been kitted out with a small auditorium.
The onboard screen will be used for new documentaries and short films, but the Floating Cinema will also be involved in larger canal-side events, such as a fancy dress showing of Fantastic Mr Fox.
Taking place next to the 3 Mills studio where the motion picture was shot, the occasion on August 19th will see the best dressed people win prizes. The film begins at 20:00 BST.
Open Thursdays will be held each week and allow people to get involved with the project. Attendees should get to the boat between 14:00 and 20:00 for these events.
The Floating Cinema, which is free to attend, will be involved in several arts events over the course of the summer, including the East End Film Festival, Garden Tours & Harvest Festival and Angel Canal Festival.
Booking ahead is encouraged for onboard screenings and workshops due to limited space.
