Bonnie L. Houser Named a VIP Member of Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Military Education

Decorated military veteran Bonnie Houser advises senior US Air Force leaders on education for enlisted personnel



    WASHINGTON, DC, August 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bonnie L. Houser, Chief of Air Force Enlisted Developmental Education for the U.S. Air Force, has been selected as a VIP member by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in military education.

With 26 years of experience in the service, Ms. Houser has distinguished herself for her skills in leadership development, guidance for schools, budget planning and execution, training and development, manpower sourcing, and policy writing. Valued for her knowledge, she is sought by Air Force senior leaders for advice on policies, curricula and resource issues impacting the professional development and education of more than 262,000 enlisted personnel. She is responsible for developing policy and guiding the execution of the enlisted professional military education (EPME) program encompassing 78 resident schools, nine distance-learning courses and 603 faculty and staff. She also formulates and executes Air Force strategic vision, plans and policies for enlisted developmental education for the Enlisted to Air Force Institute of Technology and EPME programs. Additionally, she serves as the Air Force liaison to the U.S. Department of Defense, the Joint Staff, sister services and the Air Force Air Reserve regarding Air Force EPME and enlisted Joint PME (JPME) policy and curricula.

An exemplary student, Ms. Houser graduated cum laude from Troy University in 2004 with a master's degree in education four years after she was awarded a Bachelor of Science in management studies, also cum laude, from the University of Maryland. She previously earned several associate degrees: an Associate of Arts in management studies in 1998 and Associate of Arts in liberal arts in 1996, both from the University of Maryland, and an Associate in Applied Science in instruction of technology and military science in 1988 from the Community College of the Air Force. In addition to these qualifications, Ms. Houser completed several seminars on leadership development and military education.

Ms. Houser is a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and the Noncommissioned Officers Association. The numerous military honors of which she is a recipient include a Unit Resource Adviser of the Year in 2003 from 18th Wing at Kadena Air Base in Japan, a Meritorious Service Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters, an Air Force Commendation Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters, an Air Force Achievement Medal, an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Silver Oak Leaf Cluster, an Air Force Recognition Ribbon, a National Defense Service Medal with One Bronze Star, a Kosovo Campaign Medal with One Bronze Star, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, a Korean Defense Service Medal, an Armed Forces Service Medal, and a NATO Medal with One Bronze Star.
