LONDON, ENGLAND, August 21, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Early September is traditionally the time when the summer holidays close and leave us all with just a long, chilly winter to look forward to. There are few better antidotes to this grim prospect than a week of hilarious comedy on the banks of the Thames at the Greenwich Comedy Festival.
Set in the idyllic surroundings of the Old Royal Naval College Gardens, the annual event attracts many popular comedians to its Big Top main stage, with acts spread across a full week from September 5th-11th.
Headliners this year are Tim Minchin, Omid Djalili, Micky Flanagan, Sean Lock, Rich Hall, Milton Jones and Stephen K Amos. Also featuring are Tim Key, Jarred Christmas, Arthur Smith, Stewart Francis, David O'Doherty, Shappi Khorsandi and Shooting Stars' Angelos Epithemiou.
Whilst the shows require tickets, the surrounding areas of the Big Top are free to enter, with plenty to keep you entertained including comedy workshops and an array of bars.
There will also be special performances from Phill Jupitus and Adam Buxton, plus a Silent Disco.
Hotels-London.co.uk can provide plenty of hotels just a short distance from this marvellous event, including Grange City Hotel near Tower Bridge and Custom House Hotel at the heart of Docklands.
