During the month of May El Naturalista donated more than 25,000 Euros to their non-profit partner organizations in Haiti, Tanzania, and Japan thus exceeding over 200,000 Euros of humanitarian aid. Since 2003 the Spanish shoe company El Naturalista has been a part of several cooperative international projects that focus on the care and education of children worldwide. These humanitarian projects have been under the direction of the company's Department of Social Responsibility.
El Naturalista's commitment to children began in Arequipa, Peru in 2003 with the construction of the "Home of Hope". Six years later the "Home of Hope" cares for more than 50 disabled and abandoned children. El Naturalista also found the inspiration for their Nasca Shoe Collection in Peru and this was the beginning of the Atauchi Project, which embodies the humanitarian spirit of the company.
Since 2009 El Naturalista has been associated with the NGO Amigos de Tanzania, helping them to expand their humanitarian project, the Baobab Children's Home. Additionally, in keeping with their humanitarian commitment, El Naturalista provided aid following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti and also following the 2011 earthquake in Japan. In Haiti they worked in partnership with the NGO Acoger y Compartir. To assist in Japan, El Naturalista organized their own staff to deliver the funds raised through their website.
During the last few months El Naturalista has made three important donations: 6,500 Euros to Amigos de Tanzania, 12,000 Euros to Acoger y Compartir in Haiti, and 7,329 Euros to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan. With these donations, El Naturalista has given over 200,000 Euros in addition to the more than 9,000 pairs of shoes that have been donated to several organizations since 2005.
El Naturalista is a company known internationally for its manufacturing processes that respect the environment and people. El Naturalista products are available in more than 50 countries worldwide.
