Taking place at the Wales Millennium Centre and other venues throughout the city, the event will offer a varied programme designed to showcase the talents of more than 100 performers.
 
According to the organisers, the main aim of the festival is to provide a platform for young Welsh musicians.
 
For the opening concert, the Cardiff Sinfonietta will perform music by Mozart and Dvorak at the Gate Arts Centre.
 
The festival's resident ensemble are set to be joined by conductor Jonathan Mann and pianist Sophie Cashell, winner of the BBC's Classical Star competition.
 
Other performances taking place in the Welsh capital next month include an appearance by the Manchester Chamber Orchestra on Saturday September 17th.
 
The festival is due to reach its climax the following night with an opera gala at Hoddinott Hall. This show will feature the likes of Dennis O'Neill and Wynne Evans, the Welsh tenor known for his role in the popular Go Compare adverts.
 
Festival events are individually priced, with Cardiff Sinfonietta concert tickets available for GBP12 and seats at the opera gala costing GBP15.
