PATTAYA, THAILAND, August 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A unique cultural event will be taking place in the vicinity of Pattaya next month with the Centennial Memorial Day of Koh Si Chang.
To be held on Koh Si Chang island on September 19th and 20th, the festival will play host to a number of art and cultural performances as locals venerate the former Thai monarch King Rama V.
Koh Si Chang was a popular holiday location for the former rulers of the historic Chakri dynasty, with Rama V having built a Mondop pavilion atop a replica of Buddha's footprint on one of the island's most scenic hills.
Among the celebratory events will be a traditional Thai outfit contest, while a variety of recreational events such as a light and sound show are also promised.
Travellers based in Pattaya who wish to attend the memorial day can easily travel to Koh Si Chang for a day trip and be back in the city before nightfall.
A large selection of Pattaya hotels can be found at AsiaRooms.com by tourists with a love of culture, such as the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort.
