CUMBRIA, ENGLAND, September 04, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The second edition of Taste Cumbria is set to offer a vibrant celebration of the county's long-established reputation for great food and drink.
Celebrity chefs, top restaurants and local businesses have joined together to support the festival, which will take place in Cockermouth on Saturday September 24th and Sunday September 25th.
A star-studded line-up of food experts was announced by the organisers this summer, with The Hairy Bikers - aka David Myers and Simon King - set to headline the celebrity chef theatre.
The popular duo, known for cooking up a storm on several BBC Two food programmes, will show visitors how to prepare delicious meals with locally-sourced ingredients.
In a statement, the pair said they were looking forward to mingling with the crowds at Taste Cumbria.
"Picturesque Cockermouth is the perfect backdrop for the event and I know the festival organisers are anticipating this year's festival to be even busier than last year's," said King.
Other special guests due to appear over the two days include award-winning food writer Ravinder Bhogal and chef Matt Tebbutt, who recently appeared on The Great British Menu.
Entry to the festival is free, but some individual events and attractions may carry a small charge.
LateRooms.com offers a wide range of Lake District accommodation that could appeal to food lovers attending the festival, including Storrs Gate House.
