SEOUL, KOREA, September 06, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Seoul visitors can learn about local natural remedies at the Seoul Yangnyeongsi Herb Medicine Culture Festival, which will be held next month.
The event takes place on October 7th and 8th this year and has been conducted each autumn at Seoul's Yangnyeongsi market, in order to celebrate the rich history of traditional medicines in the area.
Yangnyeongsi is located in the Jegigol area of the city at the former site of Bojewon, a medical institution established during the Joseon dynasty where treatment and advice was dispensed.
The festival honours this heritage by offering free herbal medical diagnoses and treatments, allowing visitors to assess their health and experience the benefits of local remedies.
This forms part of a wide range of events, including the sale of low-cost herbs and competitions in herb slicing, writing, cooking and singing, as well as traditional performances and taekwondo demonstrations.
Visitors will also be treated to a free supply of tea, food and rice cakes.
Those wishing to attend will find that the market is located close to Exit 2 of Jegi Station, part of Seoul Subway Line 1.
A wide selection of Seoul hotels is available to health enthusiasts at AsiaRooms.com, including the IP Boutique Hotel Itaewon.
