LONDON, ENGLAND, September 14, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cinema lovers will be flocking to London next month in order to catch a diverse programme of movies at the BFI London Film Festival.
The 55th edition of the annual event will run from October 12th to 27th and will feature a total of 204 full-length films and 110 shorts over the 16 days.
Fernando Meirelles, director of City of God, will open the festival with his new film 360, while Terence Davies' The Deep Blue Sea - an adaptation of Terrence Rattigan's classic play - will close proceedings.
Other films that will be screened include The Ides of March, starring and directed by George Clooney, as well as Sideways filmmaker Alexander Payne's The Descendants and David Cronenberg's A Dangerous Method.
Meanwhile, talks and masterclasses will be provided by the likes of Payne, Michael Winterbottom, Abi Morgan and Alexandre Desplat.
Tickets for each event are individually priced, with the most expensive passes for the opening and closing night galas coming to GBP30.
BFI members can book tickets from September 14th, while the general public can place their orders from September 26th.
