Page 1 Solutions Awarded Gold Leader in the Colorado Environmental Leadership Program

    GOLDEN, CO, September 15, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Page 1 Solutions is excited to announce their recent award for the Gold Leader level in the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Environmental Leadership Program. This is a great accomplishment for Page 1 and one that they have been working towards for several years. In 2009, they were awarded the Bronze Achiever level, followed by the Silver Partner level in 2010.

More than three years ago, Page 1 founded its Page 1 Green Solutions program in order to promote and encourage ongoing environmental and conservation efforts within Page 1's business and surrounding communities. Over the last three years, the program has continued to grow and expand. This growth has been accomplished by establishing working relationships with a variety of green organizations. They teamed up with the EPA to become a Green Power Partner and ensure that their energy usage meets the EPA's rigorous standards. They developed a relationship with the Arbor Day Foundation and for each new client website Page 1 develops, 10 trees are planted and 1,000 square feet of rain forest is saved in the client's name. Page 1 also offers 100% green website and email hosting for their clients, through Rackspace's "Greenspace Initiative".

Taking the mission a step further, in an effort to better serve their clients, they founded the B2B Green Alliance in 2010. The B2B Green Alliance seeks to promote social responsibility and environmental stewardship among our clients. Page 1 also works with local businesses within their community and over the last year has helped 20% of the businesses in its office park join the state's program.

In addition to helping their clients and community, Page 1 has taken the green initiative to the highest level internally as well. The company receives 100% of their energy from a renewable combination of wind and solar. Employees recycle and conserve energy around the office by using ceramic dishware and silverware instead of paper and plastic, they turn off their computers and lights before leaving for the day, riding their bikes or carpooling to work, and even compost food scraps in the bin behind the office.

Receiving the Gold Leader award is an important step for Page 1 because their mission, since the inception of the Green Solutions program, is to be part of the solution and not part of the problem. Page 1 Solutions is proud of its green initiatives and it has led to a higher level of commitment and responsibility throughout the entire company.
