Taking place between October 12th and 23rd 2011, the event will see more than 50 of the city's most famous landmarks and public spaces brightened up with illuminations and projections.
Among the locations that will be lit up are the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin Cathedral and the radio tower, while the Europa-Center and Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church will also be involved for the first time.
The festival will commence with a spectacular opening ceremony at 19:30 local time on October 12th, with various "lightseeing" tours set to take place over the course of the event.
Tourists will be able to travel the city by bus, boat, rickshaw or on foot as they take in each of the creative compositions up close.
Berlin has hosted the Festival of Lights each year since 2005, with celebrities, businesses, institutions and artists all supporting the event.
