Competition is to set to be particularly fierce this year as players seek to prove their mettle ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Admission to see the Phuket Thailand Open is free, with matches to start at 09:00 local time each day, while the finals on November 6th begin instead at 15:00.

Supporting the main event will be a large sponsor activity zone, which will include a beer garden, various company booths and a variety of games and contests for beach volleyball fans.

It is expected that more than 15,000 spectators will turn up to watch, with millions more seeing the action on TV worldwide.
