/24-7PressRelease.com/ - Washington, DC December 18, 2004 -- World BBQ Magazine was announced today at meetings with key journalists from around the world, at the National Press Club.
WorldBBQ Magazine will be published from the U.S and U.K to ensure a balanced international flavor. It will feature news, reviews, interviews, and features on international cuisine, travel and lifestyle. The test kitchen at Chef’s Studio will evaluate and provide regular recipes, and details on sauces, rubs, marinades and dips. On location features cover major competitions around the world, traditional cooking with recipes, as well as tailgate barbecue, barbecue afloat, to historical features on pioneer and country cooking.
“World BBQ is about cooking and entertaining outdoors, and we see examples here from Thailand, Japan,India, the South Pacific, Europe and the many competitions across the United States†explained Alan Simpson, President of LeisureTime Network, (LTN) the publishers of the new magazine. “The definition of BBQ is broad and international. It encompasses all the traditional cooking methods based on wood, charcoal and now the convenience of gas, including such diverse cooking ovens as Tandoori, Pizza and the traditional ovens seen across Europe Africa and Asia. And of course we must not forget Mr. George Foreman who has introduced grilling to a huge new public.â€
“Our editorial team have had the opportunity to see these first hand, traveling around the world, and we are building these experiences, and the many exciting “Tastes of the World†into the new magazine. It will appeal to both the family looking for new and exciting dishes for outdoor entertaining, and to the avid barbecue competitor seeking information, and news of the many barbecue competitions. It will of course increase the interest in attending these competitions, demonstrations and shows.â€
“We are using the Internet to pull all of the countries together, and until the print magazine is available later in 2005 WorldBBQ.com will serve as our window to the world. Filming is already underway for television, and we have just completed our audio recording facilities. Our Chef’s Studio is currently testing over 800 barbecue sauces, rubs and marinades, as well as grills and cooking tools.â€
“We are also working with conventions and visitors bureaus, trade associations, tourism development groups and local media around the world to develop The World BBQ Network (WBN) and create new competitions, shows, and assist in managing existing shows and competitions under a new professional network. That project can be found on WorldBBQ.org . I would like to see better TV and media exposure for the winners of barbecue competitions, and we are actively working with our media colleagues to create media tours and more public awareness.“
WorldBBQ Magazine welcomes input from around the world, as well as news releases from manufacturers and event producers.
