LONDON, ENGLAND, September 25, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- At some time in our lives, most of us will have partaken in a storytelling. For most of us, this began and ended in our rooms with a bedtime story from Mum or Dad when we were very young. Others, like the performers at the London Storytelling Festival, have taken it a step or two further.
From October 1st-10th, some of the world's finest raconteurs will take to the stage at Leicester Square Theatre to regale delighted audiences with their witty and entertaining tales.
The event kicks off with a two-day workshop hosted by renowned New York storyteller Martin Dockery, who has told his stories to audiences around the world. He will also host three more of his own tales on separate evenings throughout the week.
Other events include 'Story Jam', where tales are told through the medium of song, improv night 'The Voices in Your Head' and 'Story Slam', where the watching audience will get the chance to take to the stage and tell their own story.
The festival concludes with a fabulous Gala, where the bill is topped by Harry Shearer, famed for his role in cult classic mockumentary 'This Is Spinal Tap' and for lending his unique voice to several much-loved characters in 'The Simpsons'.
Hotels-London.co.uk has plenty of hotels around Leicester Square for anyone who wants to attend this marvellous event, from the elegant St Martins Lane in Soho to the equally spectacular Browns Hotel in the West End.
