At this year's Darklight, the organisers are keen to focus on all aspects of grassroots moviemaking, from crowd funding and distribution to production and alternative screening spaces.
 
The festival is scheduled to take place on Friday October 21st and Saturday October 22nd at The Factory on Barrow Street, the home of Ireland's National Performing Arts School.
 
Submissions for films that will be considered for screening at the event closed at the end of August, with the full programme set to be unveiled closer to the time.
 
Previous editions of Darklight have seen guests called upon to create the line-up of films. In 2010, programmers included animator David O'Reilly, music, art and technology collective Synth Eastwood, producer Katie Holly and documentary filmmaker Caroline Campbell.
