NEW YORK, NY, October 20, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The New York Comedy Festival returns next month with a host of star performers on the bill, including Ricky Gervais.
Due to run from Wednesday November 9th to Sunday November 13th, the annual festival will see more than 150 comedians appear at venues across the Big Apple.
The Brooklyn Academy of Music, Beacon Theater, Carolines on Broadway, Carnegie Hall, Tribeca Performing Arts Centre, Bowery Ballroom and the 92nd Street Y are all set to host events over the five days.
Highlights of the programme include Gervais's appearance at the 92nd St Y on the closing night of the festival for a conversation with New York Times reporter Bill Carter.
The British comedian has enjoyed considerable success in the US, having starred in films such as Ghost Town and seen his hit show The Office remade for American audiences by NBC.
Elsewhere, the likes of Kathy Griffin, Wanda Sykes, Bill Maher, Glenn Wool, JB Smoove and Cipha Sounds are due to keep audiences entertained with their own performances.
