LONDON, ENGLAND, November 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- JDP Acquisitions are an outsourced event sales and marketing firm who specialise with clients from the energy sector. Reducing energy waste and carbon emissions is a standard they are excited to see implemented across the industry. The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) announced earlier this week they had entered an agreement with Defra, a government body responsible for environmental issues, committing the direct marketing industry to implementing 'greener' standards, cutting carbon emissions and encouraging renewable energy sources to be used by businesses.
By 2014, the industry plans to see a 25% increase in the industries use of suppression files, sustainable production and recycling standards and an increased consumer awareness of their contribution to the historic agreement with Defra. JDP Acquisitions have implemented many of their own policies to encourage a green working environment 'We have taken steps to measure and monitor our current carbon footprint, by understanding the effect we currently have on the environment allows us to implement strategies to decrease our carbon emissions. Simple changes like having recycling bins easily accessible, shutting all PC's down at night, using energy saving light bulbs and encouraging a paperless work environment have all been steps in the right directions' says Jim Pollard, Managing Director at JDP Acquisitions.
JDP Acquisitions are a business from the direct marketing industry but insist on all marketing activity to be done through event promotions rather than direct mail. "By marketing through events, we are able to make the experience with our clients interactive and more personal. We have found this to be a very effective way of creating a loyal customer base for our client whilst reducing print material moving us away from using direct mail altogether," adds JDP Acquisitions, MD Jim Pollard.
JDP Acquisitions are one of many outsourced direct sales and marketing companies who implement marketing strategies for clients that are focused on educating a target audience through presentations rather than print material. Jim Pollard, current Managing Director for JDP Acquisitions relocated the businesses head office to London to ensure his relationships within the energy industry remained strong.
By the direct marketing industry committing to Defra's objectives for cutting the production of print advertising and direct mail there will be a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions. JDP Acquisitions plan to continue their efforts encouraging a green work environment to ensure a sustainable future.
