MINNETONKA, MN, November 11, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Exlar announces its ATEX-rated high temperature hazardous location positioner, the EXP-24 Positioner, has been selected as a finalist in the 2012 Control Engineering Engineers' Choice Awards Program. The annual competition highlights some of the best new control, instrumentation and automation products as chosen by Control Engineering's print and online subscribers. Survey respondents select products based on technological advancement, service to the industry and market impact. Subscribers can vote for the EXP-24 Positioner online at http://www.controleng.com.
The EXP-24 Positioner conforms to both ATEX (Directive 94/9/EC) and CSA regulations for explosion-proof applications, controlling most three-phase linear and rotary actuators. The positioner integrates a fully featured 24VDC motion controller and brushless servo motor amplifier, and is able to power most resolver feedback brushless motors on the market. With its explosion-proof rating, high performance and robust packaging, the EXP-24 is ideally suited to a wide range of applications, including valve and damper control, oil well and platforms and engine test stands.
"With a very competitive line-up in the Engineers' Choice Awards, we are honored to have been chosen as a finalist," said John Walker, VP of Marketing at Exlar. "We believe the EXP-24 Positioner offers an excellent solution for customers who require something not commonly available on the market; a servo drive and controller that can exist directly in an environment requiring explosion proof components."
Voting will be open to Control Engineering subscribers early November through approximately Dec. 15. Honorable mention and Engineers' Choice winners will be publicly announced Feb. 15, 2012.
