BEVERLY HILLS, CA, November 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The U.S. Asia Business Forum (www.USABF.org) and We Care for the World (WCW) paid tribute to internationally recognized environmental designer, Alie Chang, at their recent conference held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, September 10, 2011. Ms. Chang received the Roy Disney Global Achievement Award for her innovative design work and contributions to develop international business exchange. "The USABF provides a platform for business networking that embraces cultural exchange and shares the benefits of growth in new markets," Ms. Chang commented. "I am humbled to receive such a distinguished recognition."
With 196 participating countries, the USABF and WCW are both international non-profit organizations based in the United States. "Global Peace through Global Trade" was the theme of this year's Forum. Kevin Kaul, Founder and Chairman USABF North America, said: "My congratulations to Alie Chang and all the 20 Global Awardees for their leadership and unparalleled lifetime achievements to help strengthen trade between the U.S. and Asian countries."
Ms. Chang's distinctive architectural environmental designs have brought her many celebrity clients throughout her career. Her trendsetting styles have been featured in major U.S. and international design and lifestyle publications. She also produced and hosted "The Art of Living," a lifestyle and interior design TV series based on her unique approach that aired for both American and Chinese audiences. Ms. Chang also produced TV programs about architectural and sustainable design in a joint effort with China's largest television network, China Central Television (CCTV), their Science Education Department, and Beijing Television Stations (BTV). Ms. Chang was also instrumental in bringing the syndication of National Geographic Television programs to CCTV in the early 2000's.
In addition to recognizing Award Recipient Alie Chang, the Guest of Honor was the Mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa. He stated at the event, "Los Angeles has much to gain from a stronger trade relationship with our business partners from Asia. The trade growth between California and Asia is a force to be fostered. I am very pleased to witness the leadership that the USABF has shown to promote bilateral trade with Asia.
