OSWEGO, IL, November 16, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Every year hundreds of tracks across the country open their doors to race prepped streetcars, to see what they can do. The question is, are you ready to have some fun at the track or will you be sidelined because your car didn't pass tech/meet safety regulations?
"We get a lot of cars in here that people need to have inspected to meet track regulations before upcoming events," says Brad Fleck, Sales Manager for Modern Muscle. "Most of the time it is a simple in and out procedure, but every once and a while, things need to be addressed, fixed or upgraded to be compliant and safe," Fleck continues.
Tracks all across the country require third party inspection reports on vehicles before they are allowed to participate in the upcoming race events. "Many times these are just simple safety inspections, during which the tech is looking to make sure the car has good brakes, no leaking fluids, working seat belts, etc. But what most consumers don't realize is the importance of having a qualified tech who knows performance parts and performance vehicles inspecting the vehicle while it's on the lift," continued Fleck.
"Many local small repair shops may be able to get the inspection done, but not many of them will know the ins' and outs' of common racing problems like, transmission problems from fluid overheating at the track, or which cars are prone to brake fade," adds Fleck.
Knowing and understanding your vehicle and what it needs to perform safely on the track is extremely important; especially when you're racing at high speeds. With more and more companies and sanctioning bodies holding car events at the track to let people see what they can do, the need for a qualified tech inspection has become extremely common. "We get all types of vehicles in here from, drag racing, road racing, autocross, drifting and even time attack cars," mentions Fleck. "It doesn't really matter what type of racing, track insurance companies require certain safety precautions to be met and as numerous tracks around the country open their doors, tech and safety inspections are becoming commonplace," Fleck continues.
One additional item to keep in mind, is besides getting the safety inspection done by a professional tech at a performance shop, it is a great time to make sure everything is running right and even have some quick and easy upgrades done to make sure you are getting the most performance out of your vehicle.
